Flashback Friday - Returning to PIAA States
Several years of blogging have occurred at the Jersey Shore Swim blog with over 1000 stories and articles posted. With that in mind, the Jersey Shore Swim blog will occasionally pull out an occasional favorite or interesting item from the archives to share with readers (plus some interesting old stuff never posted) in a series called Flashback Friday.
Jersey Shore is sending two swimmers to States this year, Gabbie Moore in the 100 back and Emma Butzler in the 100 fly and free. Psych sheets can be viewed here to see their seedings.
But behind every swimmer is an equally committed coach. First year head coach, Jenna Brooks, will be overseeing their preparation during the two day event. This is not her first rodeo at the State meet as she was once in the girls' shoes several years ago as a swimmer. Check out the news article below.

Bunches of Lock Haven YMCA Swimmers Advance to States, Final Results Posted
Attached are Central District results, here. The Lock Haven team had a great meet, with (unofficially) 19 swimmers moving on to states. This is the most that have ever moved on. Ten Jersey Shore swimmers are also advancing.
For those who aren't aware of the district/state meets, every year the state holds three district meets (east, central, and west). Jersey Shore and Lock Haven go to the central meet. From that meet, either 6 or 8 swimmers advance, depending on the event.
Please realize that this is all unofficial, and won't be official until the state committee sends out the entry list for states.

A swimmer advances to PIAA States as an automatic qualifier (hopefully a couple of more as statewide times roll in) and some new school records (check out the record board here). Flashback Friday - Lock Haven's First Ever District 6 Swim Champion

Jersey Shore Swimmer Punches Ticket to PIAA States
After the first day of District
4 swimming, Jersey Shore is holding 5th place on the men’s
side. Luke Engel captured 2nd in the 50 freestyle and teammate
John Duda and Jon Crevling pulled up in 6th and 11th
respectively. It was their 200 freetyle relay that made a statement at
the end of the evening’s swimming. Seeded 7th, the relay of
Duda, Keegan Wagner, Nash Berfield, and Engle dropped 8.5 seconds to move up to
third. Dakota Gardner, Wagner, Crevling, and Ethan Alexander swam the
2:06.18 in the 200 medley relay.
The girls finished the evening
in 6th place. The girls opening 200 medley relay of Gabbie
Moore, Allison Panczyszyn, Emma Butzler, and Kendra White dropped over ½ a
second to secure 4th place. Jersey Shore’s other relay was
seeded last but the grouping of Paige Weston, Alexa Shadle, Briar Lehman, and
Panczyszyn dropped over 8 seconds to move up several slots. Butzler
punched her ticket to States by winning the 100 butterfly while Gabbie Moore
dropped almost 3 seconds to finish 4th.

Update: All Psych Sheets Now Posted
All PIAA District psych sheets are posted and can be viewed here. Be aware that District 4 times are in reverse order (top seed is at the bottom).
PIAA District 4 Psych Sheets Now Posted
Don't bother looking for the District 4 psych sheets posted on the Distirct 4 website (http://piaad4.net/swimming.htm as of 5:40 AM this morning). Less than 36 hours from the start of the swim meet and nothing is there. Does anyone out there know what time the meet starts? Who knows?
Looking for info is like looking for water in the desert. Now if you want to find information on boys wrestling in District 4, go at it (http://piaad4.net/wrestling.htm). It is interesting to see the disparity between the two sports.
