The girls lost a close one to Danville on Tuesday night (90-80) but won an even closer meet to Athens tonight. It came down to the last relay where the foursome of Rachel Duda, Paige Weston, Gabby Moore, and Emma Butzler swan away with the 400 freestyle relay and the meet 85-84.
Depth was critical as every JS swimmer that earned a point contributed to the win. In the process, the girls won 2 of the 3 relays and 5 of the 8 individual events. Butzler also set a new school record for the 500 freestyle (set by Maddi Thompson in 2010). The girls kept their record intact as they have not lost to Athens in the last 20 meets. Jersey Shore's record for the year stands at 4-1.
The boys were only able to win 1 of 3 relays and 3 of the 8 individual events in their loss of the evening.
