Several years of blogging have occurred at the Jersey Shore Swim blog with over 700 stories and articles posted. With that in mind, the Jersey Shore Swim blog will occasionally pull out an occasional favorite or interesting item from the archives to share with readers (plus some interesting old stuff never posted) in a series called Flashback Friday.
This weekend will be the inaugural championship swim meet of the Central Keystone YMCA Swim League (merger of the central Pennsylvania YMCA
Swim League (CPYSL) with several teams from the Keystone YMCA Swim
League).
Below is an article that appeared in the February 19, 2009 Lock Haven Express. If you read the article, it mentions the Williamsport swim team. As of now, Williamsport does not have a YMCA team. Kinda weird that Williamsport, a town of 29,000, doesn't have a team but little ol' Ridgway (population 4,000) has a YMCA swim team in this weekends CENKEY championships. Kudos to those Ridgway community leaders that see the need to provide athletic opportunities to their youth.
