Spring Swimming in Central Pennsylvania

8 and unders: Now have a chance to practice 4 days/week (last year it was only 3) for 45 minutes.  This is a chance to improve the skills needed to succeed in the water.  Of course, this is the right time to join the team, so if you have anyone in mind that could be a Loggerhead, bring them along.

9 and over:  The brochure says 11 and under (because we didn't want to confuse swimmers who wanted to do the senior group), but this is definitely open to swimmers from 9 to 18 that want to improve swimming and conditioning.  The group meets 4 times per week (again, a big improvement) and will work hard on drills, mechanics, and base conditioning.  Again, if you know a young athlete who might want to try swimming, this is the time

9 and over Plus Dryland:  The same as the group above, but with 3 hours/week of dryland training (supervised).  This is very exciting, as dryland training for strength and core are at the heart of all athletics, and swimming in particular.

Senior group:  This group (12 and over only) will be resistance (weight) training, along with 3 days/week of dryland and 4 days/week of swimming.  On the brochure it lists lifting as Tuesday/Thursday at 3:30-4:30.  There will be another group on those days that meets from 5:45-6:45.  The swimming time will be flexible - ask the coach and they'll work out a schedule using the open/lap swim times in the pool.  For those in this group, look for an orientation session in the weight room sometime next week.
